"Having a role model in life is a great thing to have; one who provides us with direction and inspiration. However, we will forever be restricted by that person's limitations if we live within their boundaries. Be influenced, but set your own standards and develop your own principals, if you are ever to live beyond someone else's dreams."---Jason Shahan

I'm not concerned with your liking or disliking me....All I ask is that you respect me as a human being.- Jackie Robinson
A youth is to be regarded with respect. How do you know that his future will not be equal to our present?- Confucius

Say, "I love you." A lot. If you love someone they should know. All the time. And this will sound totally cliche, but it's true: you never know when it's going to be the last time that you'll see someone, so you need to say it. And you won't know what you've got til it's gone.

How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes! - Maya Angelou
Honor and Respect. Recognize Heroes. Visit and Pay Tribute.
Memorial Day: A day to honor those who have served our country. (we don't need one single day to do this, I expect you to practice the above mentioned everyday.)

Point being: I still love you. Even if I'm screaming at you at the top of my lungs to please be quiet for 10 seconds so I can think. I do love you.

It cannot cripple love
It cannot shatter hope
It cannot corrode faith
It cannot destroy peace
It cannot kill friendship
It cannot supress memories
It cannot silence courage
It cannot invade the soul
It cannot steal eternal life
It cannot conquer the spirit

At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end
He noted that first came her date of her birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years
For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not how much we own;
The cars, the house, the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard.
Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
That can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
To consider what’s true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger,
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we’ve never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect,
And more often wear a smile
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy is being read
With your life’s actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?
